Have you ever even heard of Gunite Pools?  Probably not. But I bet you have seen some and had no idea what you were seeing and why they are such great options when you want your own pool or water feature.

Gunite pools are just your average pool…kind of.  Have you ever seen a swimming pool that has cool shapes and seems to flow organically with the landscape?  That is likely a gunite pool.

In the beginning of pool construction, it seemed like every pool was a rectangle.  We felt pretty creative when “kidney-shaped” pools were available everywhere.  But as building materials and methods advanced, so did the ability to get creative and make pools that inspire imagination, flow with a landscape, make a statement, or even just fit the available space better.

And though other materials are available, gunite is so strong and so versatile that it is hard to beat.

Preformed pools are quick, which gunite isn’t.  You don’t dig a hole and drop it in, in less than four hours.

What you do is plan the shape, size, and contours of your pool, then you dig the hole and build a frame.  The frame provides structure for the gunite to stick to and a form to fill.

Then we use a high-pressure hose to fill the frame with gunite, which enables us to have those wonderful shapes and curves and flowing lines.  The gunite comes out like foam or water from a hose, so it can mold into whatever shape you need.

Best of all, it is a concrete-like substance, so it is strong. And it is built around an underlying frame, so it stays strong for a long time.
